Frequently asked questions
How do I get an exact size in pixels?
Type the width and height you need in the “Width” and “Height” boxes. With a fixed aspect ratio the other dimension follows automatically; choose “Free” to set both.
Which ratio for Instagram or a story?
A portrait Instagram post is 4:5, a square post 1:1, a story or Reel 9:16. A banner or YouTube thumbnail is 16:9.
Is the image quality preserved?
Yes. Cropping keeps the original resolution of the part you keep. A JPG is saved again at 92% quality, which is invisible to the eye; a PNG stays lossless.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping happens in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
